flats challenge

Dirty Diaper Laundry's 4th Annual Flats & Handwashing Challenge is set for May 11-17th.  What is the #FlatsChallenge?  In a nutshell, it's an event created to prove to that cloth diapering can be easy, affordable and a viable option-even for those with no washer or dryer.

Host Kim Rosas of Dirty Diaper Laundry walks you through the ins and outs of learning to use flats, covers, handwashing cloth diapers and more.  Through participation families may discover a new found love for old school cloth diapers and traditional washing methods.

Interested in participating this year?  Check out Kim's blog post here for more details on how you can participate in this year's #FlatsChallenge!

I heard about the flats and hand washing challenge from Ferne at Kebbies Diaper Bag and was immediately excited. I’m a prefold lover who has been wanting to try flats for awhile, so that part was right up my ally! I admit the hand washing is a bit daunting. But I think every cd mama (or dad) should know how to hand wash fluff in case of an emergency. I am willing and eager to take on this challenge!

I’ll be participating this year and I’m really excited about it. It gave me an excuse to go buy a couple covers ;-)

I think this is a great concept and I understand why it’s done, but I have no desire to wash by hand :) Just thinking about having to wash them by hand makes me appreciate my washer! I also don’t own any flats, would definitely love to try them sometime though!

I have a feeling I’m really going to enjoy flat diapers. I purchased 20 FSTs to use with my baby, to be born end of May/beginning of June. :)

I have always wanted to know how to handwash items because you never know when something might break!
