An AWESOME and EASY Lasagna Recipe for Lazy (or busy) People

I can admit it.  I’m not the chef in our household.  My husband cooks all the time and really enjoys it.  But some nights he is on shift at the Fire Station and it’s my turn to cook.

I don’t know about you but I LOVE lasagna.  The problem is that not only does it take a solid hour to prepare, it will cost you $20 in ingredients and many are not things you just have laying around so you have to plan in advance to make it.

Well in our house we’re a fan of frozen cheese ravioli.  We (well I mean I personally) don’t cook it every day, maybe once or twice a month.  Then I had this crazy thought to turn it into lasagna!  After all, it is pasta, with ricotta inside, and we always have sauce and mozzarella in the fridge.

So, without further delay.  Here is my newly created recipe, I call it ‘Rasagna!‘

easy lasagna recipe

Ingredients:

  • Your choice of ravioli, fresh or frozen
  • Mozzarella Cheese grated
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Ground Turkey*

How to:

*If you prefer meat sauce then cook your preferred meat as usual.  Ground Turkey is a good choice.  Then add to half your tomato sauce.  Cook your raviolis per their directions.

Prepare an 8×8 glass baking pan.  Lightly coat bottom with sauce.  Place a layer of cooked ravioli and cover with sauce or meat sauce.  Add an additional layer and so on.  When you’ve run out of raviolis cover them all with sauce and a really generous layer of your grated mozzarella.

Bake covered for 15 mins at 350, then uncover and bake for another 10 mins.  If you like your cheese really baked you can turn on the broiler for about 60 seconds.

As you can see this is pretty much just a made up recipe.  It really doesn’t need explaining but I thought it would be fun to share.

So what do you think?  Will you try my ‘Rasagna’ recipe for your household?
