Late July Chips Inspired Black Bean Dip

Sometimes as a blogger your faced with tough challenges, like reviewing super tasty Late July Chips and Stonyfield Greek Yogurt.  It’s a rough life, I’m telling ya!

My mission, receive Late July Multi-grain Tortilla Chips delivered to my doorstep and then somehow manage to marry Stonyfield Greek Yogurt with other ingredients to create a tasty dip.  I am so NOT creative in the kitchen so in true Cloth Diaper Geek fashion I waited until the last possible moment to come up with a delicious recipe.

The Late July Multi-grain Tortilla Chips had to remain hidden until I was ready or else my super sneaky kids would have devoured them before my dip masterpiece was ready.

Finally I had my idea!  Chickpeas upset my stomach so I have discovered that while I absolutely love hummus, black bean faux-hummus is where it’s at, for me at least.

So how do you make my yummy black bean dip?

Grab one can of plain or seasoned organic black beans.  Do not rinse.  Strain out about half the bean juices (is that even what it’s called?).  Anyhow, the watery-gluey stuff, strain about half out so that your dip isn’t too watery and then pour the can of beans into the food processor.  I use a Cuisinart Mini Food Processor.

Add one tablespoon of lemon juice and a dash or two of Mama Garlic (a zesty garlic seasoning).  Adjust the amount of seasoning to taste, depending on whether or not you used seasoned beans.

Blend and then pair with Stonyfield Greek Yogurt!  If you are curious about greek yogurt and wonder what it tastes like, to me personally it tastes like sour cream and with nachos and bean dip…it’s simply amazing!

Do you want to know more about Late July Chips?

Late July Chips, available at Amazon or via your favorite local grocers, are Non-GMO Project Certified, Gluten-free and they taste amazing!  I was provided their Sea Salt by the Sea Shore Multi-grain Tortilla Chips and I couldn’t have been any more wow’ed by how they tasted.  While I am not 100% gluten-free, I do notice a difference in how I feel when I avoid gluten as apposed to my usual #eatallthegluten mentality.
