Leading Cloth Diaper Industry Expert Launches Cloth Diapering Advocacy Site, KellyWels.com
Official Press Release
Waterford, Maine (January 3, 2011) – Kelly Wels, a long time cloth diaper retailer and former owner of the widely popular online cloth diapering destination, DiaperShops.com, today announces the official launch Kellywels.com. Kellywels.com is a cloth diaper advocacy website with a mission to help parents learn and understand their diapering options. It also aims to help parents learn how their diapering choices can save them money, contribute to their baby's health and have a lesser impact on the environment in one fell swoop.
“I find that new parents who take a few minutes to explore cloth diapering become very intrigued by the modern options available,” says Wels. “They learn that cloth diapering is nothing like they thought but rather involves cute and stylish diapers that work and are easy to use. Plus, rational parents soon realize that, by cloth diapering, they can save thousands of dollars and live a more eco-friendly lifestyle – two highly appealing benefits to cloth diapering.”
Why Start a Cloth Diapering Advocacy Website?
Wels says that her love of helping parents understand how much cloth diapers have changed and how easy they are to use inspired her to start Kellywels.com.
“Cloth diapering was once seen as the diapering method for environmental do-gooders; however, today the practice has entered the mainstream with many modern moms finding that cloth diapering is a way of life for economical, environmental and health reasons,” she says.
Wels says, however, that some parents are still on the fence of this growing trend and find it hard to overcome common misconceptions about cloth diapering. In fact, a Harris Interactive survey sponsored by DiaperShops.com in 2010 found that 33 percent of parents with children under the age of 12 would be “extremely” or “very likely” to switch to cloth diapers if they only knew it could save them $2,000.
“Kellywels.com will help these parents unlearn what they thought they knew about cloth diapers and become more knowledgeable when it comes to diapering,” adds Wels. “All we ask parents to do is have an open-mind and be willing to make an educated decision that is best for their babies, their families and their lifestyles.”
