To the average eye a child who has Angelman Syndrome appears extremely happy with a smile that lights up most rooms and an affinity for all things water but to the parents it means a life of careful care and watchful eyes. A person who has Angelman Syndrome (AS) suffers from a disruption on a gene found on chromosome 15. Aside from the scientific findings and reasoning behind AS, people who have this syndrome suffer from severe developmental delay, speech difficulties, and seizure disorders. These ailments mean a lifetime of special care for these children.
In an effort to raise funds to find treatments (as there aren’t any that exist) and even a cure, The Foundation of Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST), hold a benefit gala to help financially aid their goal. Cloth diaper and accessories creator, Sweet Pea Diapers, is holding an auction to join in this cause. 100% of the proceeds from the auction will be presented at the gala, where actor and AS dad Colin Farrell, will be present.
