Recently, through an act of social media fate, I was acquainted with Grace of Sweet Pea Organics. She’s a super sweet naturally minded mama who owns her own business making healthy, organic, nutrient-rich treats and snacks for toddlers.
My family and I are not super healthly food eaters but we’re not really junk food eaters either. We don’t keep candy, cookies, sugary cereal or soda in the house, just your basic groceries and necessities, but we do try to stick to whole grains and other more natural foods and ingredients whenever possible. So when Grace asked if I’d like to try her kid and toddler snacks, share my review and a giveaway I was wondering…what if my kids won’t eat it? Quinoa…that’s not something we eat regularly and I’m not sure my kids had ever tried it. But I agreed and we looked forward to receiving our goodies in the mail.
Although they are not teething toddlers, they are rambunctious four year old’s who are known to want to eat non-stop! They were eager to try these curious new treats and to my surprise they really like them. Our favorites by far were the Kid Protein Bars which were more ball shaped than bar shaped. They were soft, mildly sweet and very pleasant tasting.A real sign my kids don’t like something is when they take a bite, chew slowly with their mouth closed and say “mmmmm” while shaking their head up and down. Then they decline a second bite even though they claim to have liked said food. lol Well I really expected that, but it didn’t happen. They loved the taste and didn’t think twice about the Quinoa texture.
The other treats we sampled were equally as good but didn’t interest my little ones as much as the Kid Protein “balls.”
Surprisingly, Grace has found a way to produce a quality, organic, snack food that’s good for your kids and it doesn’t cost a fortune. Each package costs only $2-$3 which is the perfect price to be able to give something a try and see if your kids like it before committing to an entire box or expensive large quantity package as you would have to if you were at your local Health Food Grocery.
