WHY Take the #SwitchtoSustainable Challenge?

Living a more sustainable lifestyle will help reduce waste in our personal environments, as well as our global environments, thus restoring a balance to our planet {that is MUCH needed}.

We need your help in order to make an impact and undo some of the damage we’ve done. Together when we take baby steps to living more sustainably we create the change we so desire. If every single one of us just made 1 switch, it would make a HUGE difference; for our generation, all generations to come & for our Planet! Let’s do THIS!

Get Informed! Be Part of the solution!

Switch Ideas:

  • Switch from plastic disposable diapers to cloth diapers. Even one diaper switched for cloth per day can save 365 disposable diapers per year from landfills!
  • Switch Single Use Items in your household or place of work to Reusable items. Reusable snack bags and sandwich wraps are affordable and easy to care for! Drink coffee? Reusable K-Cups are a must!
  • Switch to using recycled materials where you can. Are you a business that ships packages? Commit to reusing packing supplies like mailers, boxes, bags and bubble wrap!
  • Switch from plastic water bottles, to re-usable stainless steel or glass water bottles. Reusable bottles typically keep drinks colder and/or hotter for longer so don’t delay, make the switch!
  • Switch from single use (or a few time use) containers to more sustainable ones (ie stainless steel or glass food containers). These are great too, because they won’t leach, keeping you & your Fam Safe!
  • Switch from buying single packaged products to Buying in BULK. Take your re-usable containers in to fill up. I LOVE this because I don’t have to transfer my bulk items to containers after I get home..I just unload from the car straight into the pantry…reduces time too (aka “more sustainable”)
  • Switch items with plastic material to more sustainable materials (glass, stainless steel, wood, clay, fabric, aluminum, etc.) Reusable shopping bags are popular and super affordable. Ditch those plastic bags and switch to reusable shopping bags once and for all!

Feel free to switch as MANY things as you’d like (just don’t overwhelm yourselves!). Baby Steps Peeps! Don’t stress or overthink this! I know it can be intimidating sometimes, so just focus on your one little baby step at a time.

Enter to win some great prizes from our sponsors by using the Rafflecopter form below.

I love sustainability because to me it means a healthier life style for myself, my family and the environment. If we don’t take care of the world we live in it will eventually become too toxic for us to live in. I use sustainable products and teach my child not to be wasteful so they have a clean and healthy world to live in.

I have always wanted to live a more sustainable life, esp now that I have 3 boys. I want to leave a world to my children that they can enjoy being outdoors and breath fresh air, take a hike and see all the different life in the forest, go for a swim in a creek and not have to worry about getting bacteria infections. I want to teach my kids to love the earth and take better care of it than the people before them.

I love sustainability because I feel like I am personally helping to make a difference by not creating more garbage. We made the switch to cloth diapers when my daughter was born and I’ve continued with my 8 month old son. I want to make the switch to cloth wipes and even un-paper towels. We already use re-usable water bottles and re-usable bags and we try finding creative ways to re-purpose things that weren’t necessarily meant to be re-used.

It’s important to encourage the general public to think and act with a sustainable mindset, as our disposable society consumerism has reached epic proportions, and with a growing world population, we are rapidly burying ourselves in garbage and squandering our earth’s finite resources. Individually, we may not make a huge impact, but little by little, we can make a difference collectively

By using cloth napkins, diapers, un-paper towels, ect, we save our selves money (over time) by not buying disposable products. By walking or biking, we save on gas! Any by keeping our home a few degrees cooler in the summer, we both save on utility bills and have a good excuse to cozy up with pretty sweaters and warm blankets!

I teach my oldest daughter to reuse and make earth green. Once my youngest is old enough to understand about earth I will be teaching her too. My family and I make the switch by reusing the boxes for storage. Instead of paper coffee cups I use my own reuseble coffee cup. It actually keep my coffee hot longer than paper cups. I live by the beach say about 10 minutes. We don’t get grocery plastic bags. We reuse our material grocery bags. I hate to throw away plastic water gallons instead I recycle them. That way they don’t land at the landfill. There are so many I reuse in my household. Go Green on Earth!

    Sustainability is a beautiful thing.
We began to clean up our lives after my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010. He has since passed, but we keep going. Knowing that you are capable of living a sustainable lifestyle is empowering and for us, has brought us closer to God and the world around us.
I have said many times, “if you can bring yourself to a place of sustainability in your life, never needing anything you can’t provide, that is a very powerful place to be”.
    That’s why I love sustainability ♡

I just started the journey into sustainability a few months ago. I love that I don’t need to buy wasteful products. I love that I can make a lot of sustainable things myself or buy them once instead of every other week. I love that my switch is helping this earth and helping myself and my family become more conscious of our surroundings. My family is slow to join me but I’m hoping I can get my husband more onboard with this lifestyle since he has MS. I pray one day we can be totally self sufficient and living sustainably. :)

The small steps for us started a few years ago with reusable bags. Now a clothesline, composter, and few dozen lightbulbs later we are also starting the cloth diaper journey!

I started making small sustainable changes a few years ago, as I gained more knowledge about what things are toxic. Once I was pregnant they was a huge shift, I wanted my child to be part of a better world. I was always had a level of environmental awareness, but I really wanted to overhaul my lifestyle for a better future my children and their peers.
