In 2010 I created this Cloth Diaper Geek blog and Facebook Page because I was selling my cloth diaper retail site (which was sad) and wanted a way to stay involved in promoting the use of cloth diapers. Plus I needed an excuse to still be able to hang out in the cloth diapering community online. Today the ticker on Facebook hit 12,000 fans!
I know each cloth diaper blogger has a different purpose, different goals and strives to develop their own unique niche in the community. We look for a way to set ourselves apart from the rest and to create a name people know and trust. We all want to be memorable.
At times I've felt a little lost as to my direction, especially since my little ones don't wear cloth diapers anymore. My goal from the start was, and continues to be, to support small (primarily cloth diaper related) business owners like the one I used to be and to help promote their business and products online. I know what it was like to NEED a sale, to feel like a tiny little fish of a store in a great big sea of retail competitors.
I can recall times when inadvertently my store was linked to on Diaperswappers, after which I would see a spike in traffic and often some sales. My heart would swell with excitement and I'd feel encouraged and inspired to do better, be better, get bigger and succeed!
It's been quite some time, and I no longer sell direct to the public, but it absolutely thrills me when I know that I've posted a link to a store that I have chosen to support and that because of my post you may have shopped with them.
Although I do have paid sponsors whom I am partial to, and very thankful for, I still take great pride in giving shout-outs, hosting giveaways and promoting businesses and their products online whether they're a sponsor or not.
I know as far as cloth diaper resource blogs go, I really can't compete anymore, so I've evolved, adapted and have now become content with my place in this cloth diaper universe.
My purpose is and always will be to promote family owned businesses and help them succeed. Hopefully mixed in with being a promoter I can still offer relevant cloth diapering advice, resourceful posts and more.
This post is simply to let you all know that I personally am honored to have a blog and page that has flourished. To know that you have blessed me with your LIKE or follow, that you trust my product and store recommendations and that sometimes through me you continue to bless the businesses in this industry that I love so much.
Thank you for reading and thank you for 12,000 fans!
Smooches!

I’ve been considering making my own baby accessories (and maybe eventually moving on to making diapers), probably on etsy or something, but I’m still iffy about it. Do you have any advice you can give me?
