Funny, when I talk about BlogHer my husband has a hard time believing it’s ALL women. I explain, male bloggers are welcome, but yes it’s primarily women.
I’m sure in his head he’s thinking, “why would any men want to go to that!?” lol But in reality, I am sure it’s a relief to know that when you’re sending your wife across the country to a conference where there will be parties and such, that she’ll be safe, hanging out with a bunch of female bloggers.
So, with that all said, I still got the impression he didn’t quite believe me. I found the video from BlogHer’11 so he could see what the Sparklecorn party was like.
I giggled when I watched this with him because I think it finally set in, what this conference is all about. I try and picture an all male blogging conference and I just don’t picture men dancing with each other or getting up on stage, acting silly, acting free.
This is why I love women and why I love BlogHer.
After the video my husband let me know that if he were a single male he’d for sure go to BlogHer where he could meet women letting loose, being themselves, being real. I think if I were a man I’d think that was cool too.
So, New York City, you better be ready because I’m coming! Woot!
I’m Julie, a former cloth diaper retailer who discovered a passion for the industry. Now, instead of selling cloth diapers, I advocate them and promote small businesses I love who sell and manufacture them.
I’m the wife of a fireman and mother of three. I have a daughter and identical twin sons.
