Wow, I don’t think I could possibly take any longer to share this. I have had this Lunette Cup Giveaway on my list of things to do FOREVER!
You might remember my post about how distraught I was to discover that I really and truly do have a Sz 2 vagina. Well now I am giving you a chance to discover that you have one too! Ha Ha!
No seriously, the Lunette Cup is awesome, and I can’t imagine my monthly cycle without it. I started out a Diva Cup user years ago, so I did have some menstrual cup experience prior to getting the Lunette Cup. There are things you should know about using a menstrual cup so I will list them below.
Lunette Cup Pros:
- Comes in different colors so that you don’t have to worry as much about unsightly discoloration that sometimes occurs with clear models.
- Two sizes, although trust me, you HAVE a Sz 2 vagina. Don’t get your hopes up.
- Provides extended protection, perfect for exercising, outdoor activities and times when you might not want to have to worry about restroom access.
- Saves you money and you never have to worry about having a stock of pads or tampons for when your cycle starts.
- Easy to insert and it’s flat and very stretchy stem was a lot easier for me to grasp for removal, easier than other menstrual cups I have tried.
Lunette Cup Cons:
- Not a bad thing necessarily, but it will take a couple cycles for you to adjust to how long you can expect to be able to keep it in without changing it so that you can plan your day accordingly. You might find that on the first day with heavy flow you need to dump and re-insert it every two hours and on the following days you might be able to go all day long. Everyone is different.
- You have to have somewhere to dump and rinse it. If you need to change it while in a public restroom you’ll need a stall with a sink. I also need to squat, which I don’t want to do in a public restroom. So I plan around it. I dump and replace before going out so that I know I won’t need to “go there” while out and about.
I wouldn’t necessarily say these are cons, but they’re just a couple things you need to take into consideration if you’re new to the Menstrual Cup alternative.
