The New FuzziBunz One Size Diapers are HERE
Are you ready for the reveal of the brand new Fuzzi Bunz One Size Diapers? I hope so!
First let me say I am excited to have been selected to have a sneak peek at the new FuzziBunz One Size Diapers. I’m honestly impressed with the changes that have been made and I think you will be too.
What’s New about FuzziBunz and their One Size Diapers?
Well if you’ve been in the cloth diapering community for a while then you know that FuzziBunz used to be a household name. FuzziBunz was the go-to cloth diaper that everyone loved and the brand most often credited with the birth of our industry. Personally, a couple gently used Medium FuzziBunz Pocket Diapers (the kind with the pointy tabs) were two of the first cloth diapers I ever owned and loved.
I am sure you all know that businesses have their ups and downs. Leaders come and go, manufacturing facilities change, new products and competitors are born and companies have to adapt in order to ride out the hiccups. That’s just what FuzziBunz is doing. Change is a good thing and in this case I think you all are really going to enjoy the new and improved FuzziBunz, both as a company and a diapering system.
How are the New FuzziBunz One Size Diapers different?
When I first received the One Size Small and One Size Large I played around with them a little, noticed some nice new attention to detail, and a bit of a difference in these diapers cosmetic appearance. Initially I didn’t take a whole lot of time to really inspect them and read about how they they were different from the retired FuzziBunz Elite design.
Then I looked back through the literature I received and began to read an interview with the designer. The new FuzziBunz OneSize Diapers have been reimagined and redesigned by Roy Couvillion, a product design engineer and grandfather of nine. Roy’s job was to deconstruct the diaper and go back to the drawing board. I know what you’re thinking…this sounds like what everyone would say when they come out with a new diaper.
After reading about Roy and the improvements he made to the FuzziBunz diaper I went and grabbed my diapers and started taking a closer look.
Double rows of reinforced stitching
Gentle, adjustable and generous leg elastic and casing (both legs and waist are adjustable with buttonhole elastic like the Elite)
Nylon reinforced front panel and tabs (note, this photo shows the diaper inside out)
Contoured microfiber inserts match the shape of the diapers
TWO One Size Options (both fit from birth through potty)
Two sizes of one size?
According to the interview with Roy “diapers are performance wear and need to fit properly.” I can’t argue with that. This led FuzziBunz to the conclusion that a one size fits all diaper solution that fits all babies of all weights, shapes and sizes was not the answer, so they have created two. Both are able to be used from birth through potty training but take into consideration that 15, 20 or even 30lbs look differently on different babies and body types. Looking for less bulk and a more tailored fit on your tiny 7lb baby, perhaps try the One Size Small. Need to cloth diaper an infant and a late-to-potty train toddler? One Size Large will fit them both. You can read more about the differences between the two by clicking here.
As you know I no longer have little ones to try out cloth diapers on. My thoughts above are based upon the design, quality, my knowledge of cloth diapering and experience with past FuzziBunz diapers. I can attest to seeing noticeable changes in quality, noticeably reinforced stitching, thicker PUL, plush microfleece and definite design changes when compared the the FuzziBunz Elite.
FuzziBunz new website has launched today and is open for business so head over and check that out. Looking to shop from a FuzziBunz retailer? They’ve got those too! For a list of retailers who have the New FuzziBunz One Size Diapers in stock click here.
