Little Owl Baby All In Two Cloth Diaper System Review
THE AI2 DIAPER
This all-in-two diaper is a waterproof outer layer, with a 100% polyester lining inside. It is designed with a snap in liner that is made up of 85% polyester and 15% polyamide with a waterproof outer layer. The liner has 2 snaps in the back and one snap in the front. It also came with an additional soaker, which is made up of 85% polyester and 15% polyamide. The snap in liner comes with a nice area of elastic in the middle, where the legs sit, which helps to create an inner gusset. The outer shell has nice elastic in the leg area, as well as in the back. It doesn’t have snap down risers, but has 2 rows of of snaps. The diaper I tried is a size Medium, which is for a weight range of 13-26 lbs .
How do Little Owl Baby diapers fit?
I tried this diaper on 2 of my children; my daughter who is 15 lbs and my son who is 26 lbs. On my daughter, the diaper fit nice and snug and she was in the middle settings. On my son, he was on the largest settings, and it still fit him nice and snug, but not too tight. The way it fit both children, I would say the weight range is probably right on. It might fit a little smaller than 13 lbs, but definitely would not fit much more than 26 lbs, depending on their stature.
How well did the Little Owl Baby diapers work?
This diaper worked very well as a daytime diaper. My children are heavy wetters and if yours are too then I would plan on one diaper change during the night, even when using an additional doubler. As a daytime diaper, it held up great, fit very comfortably and held quite a bit. Both of my children were able to go at least a few hours before needing the liner changed. This diaper is definitely one that I chose when I knew my children were going to nap, as I knew it would hold up for the duration of their nap. With the snug fit, it also held in poopoos very well, which is very important to me and to other cloth diapering moms I am sure.
What about the Little Owl Baby style?
First, did I mention Little Owl are made in Los Angeles? I love that! I also love the versatility of the diaper. The fact that the snap in liner is waterproofed, you are able to change it without needing to change the shell and this definitely helps reduce the amount of cloth diaper laundry you have, as well as makes the preparing of the diaper very easy. You simply snap in the liner and you’re good to go. The snaps are very nice to ensure that the liner stays in place. This is a great feature because I have used other cloth diapers that feature inserts that don’t snap in and often they can move and bunch up, especially with mobile children. The additional soaker/doubler is also very easy to use. Just lay the additional soaker on top of the standard absorbent liner and you’ll have the additional absorbency you need.
Note: The interior of the shell is lined with polyester so if the soaker does not catch all of the pee or poop you will need to replace and wash the shell, it cannot be simply wiped clean when soiled.
How did I like this diaper overall?
I really liked this Little Owl Baby AI2 System. I absolutely loved the fit of the diaper, the absorbancy, and how easy diaper changes were. Even though I personally don’t care for polyester lined shells intended for reuse, the rest of the features were great and the polyester did seem to give the interior a softer and more comfortable fit. Because it fits a smaller weight range than most, I feel that’s what gives it such a nice fit and makes them worth it. I highly suggest you give Little Owl Baby diapers a try!
