My Chickadee Carryall, more than just a diaper bag!

I was thrilled at the opportunity to review the My Chickadee Carryall. I mean, who doesn’t love a new bag, right? The My Chickadee brand was created by a mom and all products are made of high quality, custom-designed fabrics. I choose the thistle-blueberry fabric for my review.

When I took the bag out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised at how large it was, 14” wide and 12” tall, yet it was still very lightweight. Not to mention how much the inside expanded and how many compartments there were! Made from 100% heavyweight cotton with a soft peachskin lining, the quality of the construction was obvious, and I love that all the materials are certified lead, BPA, and phthalate free.

Not only is the carryall itself amazing, but it comes with a large wet bag and a changing pad, both made from matching fabric. The changing pad also has soft leatherette material on one side to make wiping off after diaper changes easy. The wet bag is quite large, 17” by 13”, can carry up to 7 diapers, and can be washed right along with your diaper laundry.

The inside of the bag is divided into two large compartments. I was able to easily fit 4 diapers, a pack of wipes, the wet bag and changing pad with plenty of room to spare for extra outfits, bottles, keys, wallet, etc. This bag could easily accommodate everything needed for baby and all of mom’s things as well. I especially love the magnetic snap closure; it’s easy to use, secure, and I don’t have to worry about anything falling out. I was pleased at how compact the bag looked once closed up, not bulky like a lot of diaper bags I have used.

Beyond Cloth Diapering with the Carryall

It’s a given that the My Chickadee Carryall makes a perfect diaper bag, but it would also be a great (and fashionable!) bag to take to the beach, the park, the gym, on a picnic, you name it! In fact, because I don’t have the need for a diaper bag anymore, I have been using the carryall as a craft bag!

If I had designed a bag to store and carry my knitting supplies with me, I could not have designed it better that the My Chickadee carryall. For my current project (knitting a sweater), I have packed my carryall with 10 balls of yarn (that fit great in the wet bag!), 7 packs of knitting needles, scissors, a pen, measuring tape, and my printed pattern, with plenty of room left for my ever-growing knitted piece. I love that beyond the years of needing a diaper bag this carryall can easily transform to meet a number of other needs!

I highly recommend the My Chickadee carryall. It is extremely well made, available in several beautiful prints, and is sure to be useful for many, many years.
