TushMate™ One-Fits-All Cloth Diaper System Review

I received 2 TushMate™ One-Fits-All™ Cloth Diaper starter kits with cotton/hemp blend inserts and….WOW! My mind was boggled by the claims of all this diaper system can be: All-in-three, all-in-two, universal cover, pocket and a hybrid system!  This can’t be possible! Where do I start?

Smart Packaging!

Well, the packaging is adorable and smart!  The cute zipper bags they come in ensure safe travels through the post and, when they arrive, you’ll want to rip them open and use them right away! FLUFF MAIL!

Trim Inserts & No leaks!

After washing everything and prepping the inserts, I tried the All-in-two configuration with 2 of the cotton/hemp inserts. It was so trim I seriously doubted that it would hold up to my mega-wetter. Of course, she fell asleep before I could

change her out of it and it went 3 hours before she woke up. The inserts were completely saturated, but the diaper did not leak!

Versatility!

Next, I used it as a pocket with flour sack towels as inserts. No problems! The snap-in stay-dry liner works to keep baby feeling dry and stays in place while baby is moving and playing.   Then I set out to use the TushMate cover over our favorite fitteds. Total coverage! Not even a bit of diaper peeking out of the cover.  I also tried it over a bamboo terry flat for overnight. Dry sheets in the morning!

Every which way I configured this system, it held up through naps, wrestling with brothers, errand running, bike rides and park play dates!

The TushMate™ website makes the following claims about the One-Fits-All™ System and I definitely agree that it lives up to every single one!

Overnight Use: I boosted their inserts with some from my stash, but it definitely fits well and made it through the night!

Easy to use: Sure is! The snaps on the inside are easy to see and easy to use.

Economical: YES! I believe the price to be excellent for the high quality materials and because you can re-use the shell for multiple changes, you save money by only needing to purchase more inserts.

Easy to Wash: Absolutely! The inserts are made of natural fibers and wash out very well. The liner style makes it unnecessary to “unstuff” when using as a pocket. The inserts come out in the wash!

Versatile: YOU BET! This diaper really does live up to the claims of versatility and I LOVE that about a diaper! I like knowing that I will get my money’s worth out of a diaper system if I can use it different ways for our many different needs!

I will be using this diaper system in my regular rotation. What’s even better? It can also be prepared and stuffed ahead of time for the babysitter. No more need for separate diapers on the ready for date nights!

Great review, you have me excited about possibly trying this diaper or recommending it to a friend. (People are always asking for a diaper that could meet all their needs day/night.) I also love the globe print! Does the aplix seem durable? Do you have any pictures of the inside or inserts? Curious!

Hi, Laura! Thank you for your kind words! It’s exciting for me to share these diapers when they work so well for us!
The aplix is stellar! In fact, it was difficult to detach at first. BabyGirl was definately not going to get the diaper off, let alone have it fall off. We have had issues with aplix closures on other brands in the past, so this feature was important to me. I prefer snaps myself, but I do see the value in custom fit with aplix closure. So far, the TushMate aplix is holding up VERY well. (And that diaper is being worn as a cover daily unless it’s wash day!)

Found your article through FB. I am new to cloth diapers and don’t yet have a baby to put them in, but I will keep this diaper in mind! I am thinking of making my main stash prefolds and covers with a few fun pockets and all in ones. So this diaper would be perfect for me. I haven’t heard of the brand either, so the review was helpful! :)

Trish, how is the feel of the leg gussets? I’ve been using mostly BG 4.0’s and I’ve been fighting a chaffing issue at the rise snaps. Planning to branch out into prefolds/fitteds but like the versatility you speak of if we can switch back to pockets (mostly for daycare and the fact that I have a very wiggly guy).
